Eva Fritz (1999) began playing the bassoon at the Krško Music School in the class of Professor Dejan Učakar. She continued her studies at the Zagreb Academy of Music in the class of Professor Žarko Perišić and assistant Matko Smolčić, graduating cum laude in 2023. She spent a year on an Erasmus exchange at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, studying under professors David Seidel and Bernhard Krabatsch. During her studies, she participated in competitions in Slovenia and abroad, winning top prizes in solo categories and with numerous chamber ensembles (Slovenian Young Musicians Competition (TEMSIG), Papandopulo competition). She has furthered her musical knowledge in masterclasses with professors Dag Jensen, Ole Kristian Dahl, Carlo Colombo, Ulrich Hermann, David Tomás Realp, Peter Whelan. In 2022 she participated in the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra project at the Aix-en-Provence festival in France, under the mentorship of members of the London Symphony Orchestra.
She has performed as a soloist with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and gave a recital in the Young Virtuosos concert cycle, part of the Ljubljana Festival. As a chamber musician she collaborates with numerous artists and is a member of the Tromeja wind quartet (2022 – ) in Graz and the ZvUQ wind quintet (2025 – ) in Zagreb. She has collaborated with the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of Radio Television of Slovenia, the Symphony Orchestra of Croatian Radiotelevision, the Zagreb Soloists, the Orchestra of SNG Ljubljana, the Orchestra of SNG Maribor … From 2023/2024 she was principal bassoonist in the orchestra of the Croatian National Theatre Ivan pl. Zajc in Rijeka, and since 2024 she holds a full time position in the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra.
