Petra Šabić (born 1995) is a visual artist working at the intersection of artistic practice, education, and cultural production. She graduated in Art Education (2019) and Painting (2021) from the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb, earning her degree magna cum laude. During her studies, she received the Academy Council Award for outstanding graduates (2019), the University of Zagreb Rector’s Award for the project “UMMA – A Cycle of Artistic and Creative Workshops” (2018), and a commendation from the Academy Council (2017). She further specialized in graphic design and digital publishing at Algebra University College (2023), while maintaining a primary focus on her independent artistic practice.
She has held sixteen solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Croatia and internationally, including projects in India and Vietnam. In 2024, she took part in the CreArt residency program “De/Construction of the Image” in Leipzig. She is the author of an award-winning public artwork installed on the façade of the CROZ company building (2023–2024) and received the Audience Award at the Erste Fragments 17 exhibition (2021). Her works are included in gallery and private collections.
Alongside her artistic work, she is active in coordination, education, and cultural production. Since 2023, she has collaborated with the Croatian Association of Visual Artists on Erasmus+ and exhibition projects. Her practice primarily develops through painting and textile art, exploring cognitive spaces, memory mapping, and the relationship between presence and absence, control and intuition. She is a co-founder of the cultural hub Atelier na Ribnjaku and a member of professional artists’ associations in Croatia.
